OUTDOOR EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER

Nut Tree Outdoor Nursery Early Years Practitioner
You will be required to work closely as part of the team and on your own initiative to ensure the Nursery operates at a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children aged 3-5 years within the culture of the setting. You will be required to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.

You will work with the team to create an enabling environment where children can develop and learn through play. You will use your existing skills, experience and passion for outdoor education to deliver a fantastic experience for our children, promote our ethos and help to make Nut Tree Outdoor Nursery the best it can be. Therefore, sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum, is essential.

Nut Tree Outdoor Nursery is an innovative Early Years setting, with passionate and experienced practitioners. The team see children as competent learners who are able to lead their learning through play whilst being supported by respectful adults who place their relationship with the children at the heart of what they do.

Roles and Responsibilities

   *   Ensure Nut Tree Outdoor Nursery is compliant with the law and Ofsted regulations​

  • Ensure that the setting's philosophy is fulfilled and promoted at all times

  • Be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside

  • Build relationships with parents and communicate with them daily and via Famly app

  • Record observations and assessment of children via the Famly app

  • Help arrange open events and parent days at Nursery

  • Conduct daily risk assessments of the outdoor area

  • Ensure medical supplies are well stocked and in date

  • Support staff to create and present termly child progress reports

  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

 

Qualification/Experience

  • At least 1 years experience of working in a Nursery/Early Years setting 

  • A relevant childcare qualification (Minimum NNEB, NVQ3/Diploma 

  • Preferable experience within the outdoor education environment (desirable)

  • Experience of undergoing Ofsted inspections with 'Good' OR 'Outstanding' outcomes (desirable)

  • Experience of improving or troubleshooting within a setting to raise Ofsted outcomes (desirable)

  • A robust knowledge of the EYFS
